Summary
The Authors compare the short and long term results of 84 laparoscopic and 95 laparotomic myomectomies.Through data analysis, we conclude that both laparotomy and laparoscopy are safe and effective for the removal of myomas and as a treatment of myome-related symptoms, as shown by our follow-up data. The main differences between the two techniques are the longer operative time of laparoscopy and the longer hospital stay after laparotomy.
