Endometrial receptivity and implantation are not affected by the presence of uterine intramural leiomyomas: a clinical and functional genomics analysis.

Horcajadas JA, Goyri E, Higón MA, Martínez-Conejero JA, Gambadauro P, García G, Meseguer M, Simón C, Pellicer A. Fundación IVI-Instituto Universitario IVI-University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. 2008 Sep;93(9):3490-8. Epub 2008 Jun 17 abstract: CONTEXT: Uterine leiomyomas are the most frequent benign tumors during reproductive age. Whether intramural leiomyomas cause infertility and should be removed is controversial because no study has addressed the underlying mechanism of infertility. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the study was to test the effect of intramural leiomyomas on endometrial function by comparing gene during the window of implantation and implantation in

Simultaneous Ovarian and Endometrial Osseous Metaplasia: A Case Report

Sebastiano Campo, Vincenzo Campo, Gian Franco Zannoni and Pietro Gambadauro Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy Journal of Reproductive Medicine, 2007, 52:241-243 BACKGROUND: Endometrial ossification is a rare disease. More than 80% of cases occur after pregnancy, but it has been observed in patients with a history of endometritis, dilation and curettage, and metabolic disorders. CASE: A 42-year-old woman presented with osseous metaplasia of both the endometrium and ovaries. At laparoscopy both adnexa were covered with adhesions and were adherent to the posterior wall of the uterus. Following adhesiolysis, calcified nodules were removed from both ovaries with biopsy forceps.

Short-Term and Long-Term Results of Resectoscopic Myomectomy With and Without Pretreatment With GnRH Analogs in Premenopausal Women.

Campo, Sebastiano; Campo, Vincenzo; Gambadauro, Pietro Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey. 60(12):795-796, December 2005. This is a summary (with editorial comment) of an article that we had previously published on Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scadinavica (read more). Abstract: This paper presents data from a series of 80 premenopausal women who underwent resectoscopic myomectomy. Forty-two patients underwent myomectomy during the first few days of their menses (group A), and 38 were operated on after pretreatment with a GnRH analog consisting of 2 months of intramuscular triptorelin (3.75 mg Decapeptyl; group B). Pretreatment or no pretreatment was the decision of the managing gynecologist.
