More than 80% of cases occur after pregnancy, but it has been observed in patients with a history of endometritis, dilation and curettage, and metabolic disorders. CASE: A 42-year-old woman presented with osseous metaplasia of both the endometrium and ovaries. At laparoscopy both adnexa were covered with adhesions and were adherent to the posterior wall of the uterus. Following adhesiolysis, calcified nodules were removed from both ovaries with biopsy forceps.

Abstract: This paper presents data from a series of 80 premenopausal women who underwent resectoscopic myomectomy. Forty-two patients underwent myomectomy during the first few days of their menses (group A), and 38 were operated on after pretreatment with a GnRH analog consisting of 2 months of intramuscular triptorelin (3.75 mg Decapeptyl; group B). Pretreatment or no pretreatment was the decision of the managing gynecologist.
